Brief Intro:
This model came around at the request of my Uncle who needed something sturdy and open to dry his vinyl records after a proper cleaning, he's really into it and it has fit his needs perfectly even in its raw state! This model is very bare bones and my very first 3d cad design so inefficiencies and other stuff is bound to happen. I printed this in PETG! I don't see why other materials like PLA shouldn't work.
Materials Needed:
- 800/240mm of M4 Threaded Rod (ref build guide to see why)
- 8 Washers (at least 6.5 wide mm)
- 8 m4 nuts
- superglue
Building Guide:
The model it self is rather self explanatory. 4 feet joined by 4 rods when connected together with the link plates in the middle. This build first 12" Vinyls. The different amount of threaded m4 is because my print went a little off and i wasn't able to completely and clearly push through the base 200mm of thread all the way, so i cut it 30mm lengths and screwed those in. This is a flimsy solution if the rods are spun but will hold in place if left alone. After you have all 4 feet and rods attached together they will make 2pcs. Push all the rods out as far as they will go to ensure a stable symmetrical base between both pcs so we can glue the link plate on. (Optional sanding on the glue edges of the link plate + where it glues to the feet.
After Notes:
I printed this model in YAJO PETG HF Matte. Seems to hold incredibly well. I will want to revisit this model with a better cad and potenitally entirely 3d printed parts for more simplicity in MK2!
