Description

PTFE Connector Stabilizer

Introducing the PTFE Connector Stabilizer — a simple upgrade designed to solve a surprisingly common issue on the Bambu Lab A1 when using external spool mounting.

On the stock setup, the PTFE connector pivots freely. As the extruder travels left and right, the connector head swings with it, often directing the filament towards the edge of the spool instead of into it. In many cases, this causes filament to jump off the spool, wrap around the support shaft and ultimately ruin a print.

This part changes that.

The PTFE Connector Stabilizer is a TPU-printed cushioning washer that fits between the connector head and the mounting pillar, reducing unnecessary play and limiting excessive sideways movement. This keeps the filament aligned with the spool, significantly lowering the chance of tangles and print-ending filament escapes — while still allowing smooth, unhindered rotation.

Because it’s made from flexible TPU, it absorbs motion gently without damaging the original parts. You can leave it loose for softer controlled movement, or tighten the screw fully if you prefer a more fixed and rigid connector position — customizable to your preference.

A small component, but a big improvement in reliability.

📌 Print → Install → Enjoy stable, clean filament guiding!
