- Extrude the cut-out by 0.4 mm (as separate bodies — do not combine).
- Export all bodies together as one STL.
- Import the STL into Bambu Studio.
- Go to Object → Right-click → Split → Into Parts.
- Assign colors to each separated part.
- Slice and print with your preferred bottom infill and plate.
- Supports are optional — generally not required.
🎨 How to Color Your Lithophanes Correctly
To achieve vibrant, even illumination across the entire panel, follow these steps:
- Use self-adhesive transparent printable film.
This lets you add color without affecting light diffusion. - Scale your image precisely in any image editing software.
Add a 110 mm single-color border around your artwork — without it, the edges will glow white. - The actual image area should be 106 mm, perfectly centered inside the 110 mm square.
- Mirror the image before printing if your transparent film is self-adhesive.
You will be applying it to the backside of the lithophane.
