The smallest original Nintendo Switch dock-sock, featuring a lid to protect type-c connector and support the console. The OEM dock and plug are specially tuned to the Switch's TV mode power negotiation & now that these docks are easy to come by used, it's the perfect time to make your own travel dock!

Note: the original dock uses spring dampening to protect the usb-c and makes it better suited for kids & frequent docking. I designed this dock for occasional travel or to keep docked for long periods.

2x philips head screws holding Type-C board

10x philips head screws from housing

1x LED cover piece

4x Bottom Pads

Nintendo uses Tri-Wing security screws, you'll need a Tri-Wing Y0 or Y00 to get past the first set of screws.

1. Watch a youtube Switch Dock teardown, save the above hardware ^ 
2. Carefully flatten the HDMI ribbon cable. Fold it over itself near the type-c board.
3. Secure 2x screws to the under-panel shown in picture; helps steady the board.
4. Insert  LED cover piece and LED board in the shell.
5. Flip and guide the Type-C port into the shell. Make sure LED wire isn't overtop the USB-A ports.
6. Secure 6x screws thru bottom panel. 
7. Add a little extra glue stick to the bottom pads.
8. Use 2x screws to hinge the lid.
