Tired of Spool Tipping? Light or nearly empty spools can cause feeding errors in the AMS because they tend to lift or tilt when the filament is pulled.

This modular spool weight was specifically developed to solve this problem. It features a flexible, self-fillable design and is secured to the spool using a threaded locking mechanism.

⚠️ Important Safety Note on Drying

Please note that the AMS Drying Function can reach temperatures that may lead to the deformation of PLA parts. Crucially, never use batteries as filling material, as this poses an extreme fire and explosion hazard if forgotten during the drying process.

• Remove the weight core completely before using the spool in the AMS drying function.
• Alternatively: Print the weight core using a heat-resistant filament like ABS or ASA.

✨ Features and Mechanics

• Self-Fillable (DIY Weight): The core element of the weight is hollow. I recommend using small metal parts (e.g., screws, nuts) or a simple gypsum/plaster filling. DO NOT USE BATTERIES as filling material. This allows you to quickly achieve the optimal counterweight.
• Two-Stage Locking System:
  1. First Lock: A threaded cap seals the inner cavity to securely enclose the filling material.
  2. Second Lock (Attachment): A second threaded mechanism is used to securely and centrally fix the weight inside the spool core – without requiring extra screws or nuts.
• High Compatibility: Perfectly sized for the core dimensions of the Original Bambu Lab spools and the structurally identical new Sunlu spools.
