I designed this riser for the Harbor Freight U.S. General mini toolbox. I needed to reclaim some space in my work area and wanted something different than the other options out there so I made my own! This riser lifts the toolbox from the table by 6 inches and features a drawer that is 2.25 inches tall. The top is made so the toolbox can be placed on top without fear of it sliding off when being opened. It prints in 3 pieces, with the riser halves having small tapered dowels designed into them for ease of assembly. Once the riser is assembled, the drawer is captive to the riser.
When assembling, place one half of the riser on its side, place the drawer on the slider, then press the other half down to secure everything together. Then just place the toolbox on top of the assembly and its ready! The toolbox will help the two halves stay together so no glue is needed.
***The riser models have been updated in V2 so that the dowels fit a bit tighter than before. I also updated the top section so that the U.S. General toolbox should fit tighter on top. I thank the community for the feedback!***
***I have added a print profile that uses the same print settings as the original, but the drawer model has been rotated to accommodate the P1 and X1 series printers that utilize multiple calibration lines on the build plate, thus limiting overall print area.***
***I have added a version of the riser with 2 drawers! This features a top drawer that is 2.25 inches tall and a bottom drawer that is ~3.25 inches tall, with all other dimensions remaining the same. Enjoy!!***
This has been a great way to test my 3d modeling skills and I hope you all enjoy my creation! Please feel to remix this design as you see fit!
