Descrição
This is a fully modular filament spool rack that rotates easily and smooth without much resistance, so you quickly can locate the spool you're after. It can be built in any height (tested up to 10 modules) and by choosing orientation of the modules you can stack the spools in the pattern you would like. It's stable and doesn't tip over easily, even with som spools only on one side. It's practical to assemble and to change around, the spool holders just slot's into place. Vortec needs and deserves a large and tidy filament rack!

My goal is an extensive ecosystem of models with practical application where parts can be moved around and easily swapped out to customize your current needs.
Bonus tip
Print the spool holder's with the filament color it's holding, that way you can keep track if you have run out of a specific color and need to buy some more.

Printing
- See print profile for all details
- 0.2 mm layer height
- 4 walls on most parts (5 on spool holders and 8 ball bearing rings)
- 15-20% rectilinear infill
- Tree support on modules
- Tested and printed in PLA
- Calibrate the filament and clean the print plate for a perfect result :-)
For best quality and strength of the spool holders I recommend printing them laying down. If you are printing them standing, I do not recommend using PLA Silk due to it's strength (tested and confirmed).
Assembly instructions
| Place the steel balls in the male part rings. Add a tiny drop of glue between each ball as indicated by red dots in the picture. If you get any glue on the balls, wipe it off. Super glue works great. Lay the female ring over it and push them together. | ![]() |

| Place steel balls in the holes in the center hole of the top part of the rotating base. Place the top part of the base over the bottom part of the base. | ![]() |
| Use 4 pins between each module and push the modules together in the pattern you would like. The shortest pins are for use under the top wheel, the medium pins are for all standard modules and the longest pins are for the module closest to the rotating base. | ![]() |
