### 📢 IMPORTANT UPDATE: Evolution from 2.0 to 3.0 (Addressing Your Feedback!)

Hey guys! Since my current community level restricts me from replying to every single comment down below, I want to address your questions and share the future 3.0 roadmap right here in the description.

As an industrial designer, I always strive for perfection, but I admit the current **2.0 preview build** still has some limitations that I'm not fully satisfied with:
* ❌ **The "Tethered" Issue:** It relies entirely on an external Type-C cable for power, which can look a bit unfinished for a polished desktop setup.
* ❌ **Static Expressions:** The software environment is still being integrated, meaning it currently runs a limited demo face.
* ❌ **Assembly Tolerances:** The current 3D-printed internal fit can be further optimized to make the hardware installation smoother for makers.

🚀 **How the upcoming 3.0 Build fixes everything (Cooking in the lab!):**
To solve these pain points, I am actively engineering the **3.0 version**. Here is what's coming:
* **Untethered Freedom:** I've completely redesigned the inner chassis to house an integrated lithium battery power management system. No more cables hanging from its back!
* **Interactive Soul:** The gyroscope sensor firmware will be fully combined, allowing the expressions to react dynamically when you tilt, shake, or touch the robot.
* **Flawless Fit:** Refined printing tolerances for a much friendlier, screw-and-snap assembly experience, optimized specifically for Bambu printers.

📦 **Open-Source & Hardware Kit Plan:**
The 3D design files for the 3.0 version will remain **100% FREE** here on MakerWorld, and the related hardware designs and firmware will also be fully open-sourced for the community.

However, considering that the process of individual soldering and sourcing micro-chips can be tedious and complicated, I will also be hosting an all-in-one custom PCB hardware kit on **Tindie** very soon to solve your assembly headaches in one stop!

Stay tuned, keep the feedback coming in the comments, and let's build the ultimate desktop companion together! 🛠️✨

### 🤖 Project Overview
This custom desktop toy is a high-end industrial design heavily inspired by classic 8-bit arcade subculture and retro digital lifelike robots.

Following a concept preview back in March, I have re-optimized the entire body shell for better 3D printing tolerances and seamless snap-fit assembly. The shell consists of separate parts, allowing you to use your creativity to achieve different custom color schemes!

### 🛠️ Hardware & Architecture (Two Versions Available)
1. Pure 3D Printed Version: Designed as a high-quality static model for desktop aesthetic lovers who don't want to mess with electronics.
2. Electronic Hardware Version: Powered by an integrated, self-designed custom PCB utilizing the ESP32-C3 Super Mini development board.

The custom PCB seamlessly houses all crucial peripherals on its back to maintain a clean exterior look:
* Main Controller: ESP32-C3 Super Mini
* Peripherals: Functional Buttons, Micro-phone, Audio Amplifier, Speaker, and an onboard Gyroscope.
* Display: An external 0.96-inch OLED screen allowing the robot to achieve dynamic expressions, voice sound effects, and motion interactions.
* Power: Currently powered via the rear Type-C port (requires a clean desk setup). An independent, untethered power supply is being integrated for the 3.0 version.

### 💻 Software & Firmware Status (VSCode + PlatformIO)
The current core functions implemented on the OLED screen include:
* Custom 8-bit dynamic expressions with synced sound effects.
* Future Updates: Desktop clock & countdown (via WiFi), classic retro mini-games (Snake, Dino Run, Pinball), level meter, and a hierarchical UI menu.

I am currently organizing these features into a unified system. Once completed, I will open-source the final Gerber files and BOM (Bill of Materials) via GitHub.

For makers who want to check out the current hardware schematics or replicate the 2.0 electronic setup right now, the project is hosted on the LCSC/EasyEDA open-source community:

For advanced developers: the hardware includes a patch location for the built-in microphone, enabling secondary development for AI dialogue functions or flashing popular AI smart firmware (requires IDF-IDE setup).

*Debugging Note:* The rear mechanical hatch can be easily opened. Developers can open the back cover to manually trigger boot burning mode or hit the left RTS key to reset the system if a firmware crash occurs.

### 🌐 Connect & Support
