As a parent of a child with special needs, I know the struggle of constant light switch stimming. My son loves flipping switches, and the bulky child safety covers on the market were either ugly, easy to defeat, or both. So I designed my own solution, a clean, integrated safety lock built right into the faceplate.

What started as a simple fix for my family grew into this full parametric generator. Now you can create custom switch covers for any room in your house: 1-6 gang configurations, toggle or Decora/rocker switches, decorative patterns, two-color printing, and of course, the child safety locks that started it all.

• Export as 3MF to preserve colors (STL loses color data!)

• US standard #6-32 screw holes with optional countersink
• Tolerances tuned for clean switch operation
• Back cavity saves material and ensures flush wall mounting

🕵️ How to Use:

1. Select your configuration: Choose the number of gangs and switch type for each position
2. Adjust dimensions: Default sizing matches commercial plates - adjust if needed
3. Add a pattern (optional): Enable pattern, pick a built-in design or upload custom SVG
4. Set colors: Choose plate and pattern colors for two-color printing
5. Generate & Download: Click Generate, then Download as 3MF
6. Slice & Print: Open in Bambu Studio - colors will appear as separate objects

🧑🔧 Custom SVG Tips

• SVG files only (PNG/JPG not supported by OpenSCAD)
• Free converters: Inkscape, convertio.co, Adobe Illustrator
• Start with scale around 0.1 and adjust up/down to fit
• Use offset sliders to center your design
• Simple, solid shapes work best

This is my first attempt at building a parametric tool that would be genuinely useful for most homes. I designed it to cover the common switch types and configurations I've encountered, but every home is different!

• Material: PLA, PETG, or ABS all work well
• Layer Height: 0.2mm recommended
• Infill: 15-20% is plenty
• Supports: Needed if printing with Child Lock. 
• Export Format: 3MF (required for multi-color)
