Cable Organizer

What is it: This system stores your cables on dedicated spools that mount onto both horizontal and vertical racks. Each spool prints in two parts that snap together securely, and you can separate them again with a simple button press to remove the cable quickly. The design keeps both cable ends visible at a glance and maintains a consistent bend radius.

• Small: thin wire, shorter USB cables
• Medium: most USB cables
• Large: HDMI, coax, thicker cables

Why I designed This: I needed a cable storage solution that checked a few boxes, and none of the existing designs fit all of them. This system is built around three core goals:

• Both cable ends visible from the same side
• Minimal parts and low filament usage
• Consistent, gentle bend radius for every cable

Filament cost of each part: I optimized each part to use as little filament as possible while staying functional. Here's how much filament each part uses:

• Cable Spools
• Small Cable Holder: 7g
• Medium Cable Holder: 21g
• Large Cable Holder: 65g

• Horizontal Racks
• Small Horizontal Rack: 19g
• Meduim Horizontal Rack: 50g
• Large Horizontal Rack: 102g

• Vertical Racks
• Small Vertical Rack: 52g
• Medium Vertical Rack: 103g

Printing Notes:

• Designed around a 0.15 mm layer height, including first layer
• If you see stringing, try enabling “avoid crossing walls”
• To reduce stringing, I like to print parts one at a time (I was using a school printer with old filament)
• No supports

Future Improvements: If this model becomes popular, and there are ideas for ways to improve, I will gladly revisit it to help ensure messy cable drawers are a thing of the past.
