Elder Ember Dragon Lantern

This lantern is modeled after an “Elder Ember Dragon”—a mythic guardian said to curl protectively around a single eternal flame. When illuminated from within, the lantern glows like a living relic, projecting soft color through the translucent fire core while the dragon’s scales fall into dramatic shadow.

The Elder Ember Dragon Lantern is a tiny fantasy creature waiting to have fun layered onto it—especially with that RGB LED Lamp Kit doing all the heavy lifting. The Elder Ember Dragon Lantern measures 245mm (9 5/8 in) H x 157mm (6 1/8 in) W.

The Remote Control RGB LED Lamp Kit 001 is powered via USB, which opens up two convenient choices:

• Minimum bed: 175 × 175mm
• Layer height: 0.16 mm (to help reduce layer lines)
• Walls: 5
• Top/Bottom: 5 layers
• Infill: 10–15 % gyroid
• Supports: pre-arranged

Suggested Filaments

• Dragon Body: Stone gray, marble PLA, textured PLA, metallic black, or your favorite gradient, sparkle filament
• Flame: Translucent clear

• Base: Plain white, marble, metallic silver, dark grey or charcoal filament

   

📦 Bill of Materials

• 1 - Remote Control RGB LED Lamp Kit 001
• 4 – 3m x 25mm screws
• A drop of CA (super glue) for the flame to the Dragon.

All primary parts are 3D printed.

🔧 Assembly

1️⃣ Print all (supports already applied as needed).

2️⃣ Fit the flame in the belly area and adhere with a few drops of CA Glue

3️⃣ Insert the RGB LED Lamp Kit, LED Pod into the retainer as shown in the Assembly Tips image. 

4️⃣ Install the retainer into the bottom of the dragon.  Due to the roughness of the 3D printed Retainer, it may be little difficult to rotate. Apply a small dot of lubricant to each locking tab of the retainer, as shown in the image. The retainer channel will be aligned with the dragon channel when the retainer is securely in place. 

5️⃣ Route the Lamp Kit cable along the channel as shown in the Assembly Tips image

6️⃣ The dragon and base have “A” marker. Align both markers and secure with the four M3 × 25 mm screws.

7️⃣ Use the included remote to adjust color, brightness, and fade effects.
