Stack-tac-toe: A Bookcase Edition Twist on Tic-Tac-Toe
Stack-tac-toe is my original take on the classic game of tic-tac-toe (noughts & crosses), designed in the elegant style of “bookcase edition” board games. When stored away, it looks like a book on your bookshelf.
What’s the twist?
Instead of simple Xs and Os, each player has three large, three medium, and three small pieces. You take turns placing pieces, aiming for three in a row—but here’s the fun part: larger pieces can stack on top of smaller ones, adding a strategic layer to the game. To make it even more playful, I’ve designed the pieces as castle towers!
Compact and stylish design:
The game packs away neatly into a “book” format. Simply lay the pieces flat on the board, place the book cover on top, and voilà—it looks like a book on your shelf!
Assembly instructions:
- Use superglue (or similar) to attach the spine to the flat edge of the book (the side without page-indentations).
- Glue the ribs into the slots. These are printed separately to allow colour changes for the label.
Printing details:
- Designed for makers without AMS: just add a pause and change filament at the right layer.
- Dimensions: 180 mm x 180 mm, perfect for a Bambu Lab A1-Mini (or larger).
Feel free to use, adapt, sell, but please give me a boost if you do.
