Descrição
This remix began with the excellent Pole Mount iPad Stand by ovetto, but our use case required a very different mounting system. We keep an iPad next to our 3D printers running a dedicated Home Assistant dashboard for printer monitoring, and the original top-slip pole sleeve didn’t work with the storage shelf poles in our setup.
Key Changes
Reworked the mount into an adjustable two-sided pipe clamp
Designed to tighten securely onto common wire-shelf poles or similar small tubing instead of sliding over a fixed pole. This makes the mount far more flexible in positioning and angle.
Extended the iPad lip
Provides a deeper and more confident hold, especially when the screen is tapped or when the tablet sits at a slight tilt.
Added a charging cable passthrough
Built for continuous use with Home Assistant, so the cable routing needed to be clean and out of the way.
Removed the original arm storage pocket
Streamlines the design for tight shelf spaces and keeps the focus on solid mounting and accessibility.
Grip Enhancements
To eliminate slipping and protect the tablet and pole:
- We added thin cork strips where the iPad rests.
- Another cork strip sits inside the clamp for extra bite on the pole.
- The clamp also includes a small printed internal lip so anyone without cork or rubber still gets some anti-slip resistance.
- If you printed this in black and used black rubber strips, you'd have a far less dorky looking version. However, for what we're doing this worked great.
Fasteners
- The project includes 2 large screws from the original model used to join the main parts.
- For the pipe clamp, we used 4 x M3 12mm screws with matching nuts.
