🦶 Passive Piezo Kick Stomp Box
A simple 3D-printed stomp box that turns your foot taps into a kick-drum sound when plugged into a PA, amp, or mixer.
It uses a piezo disc transducer and a small passive shaping circuit to clip and filter the signal for a warm, percussive “thump.”
No power required — just plug it in and stomp!

🛠️ How it works
- The piezo converts your stomp vibration into voltage.
- The 4.7 kΩ + diode pair clip the peaks for a warm transient.
- The RC filters shape the tone — keeping low-end punch and trimming harsh highs.
- The ¼″ output jack feeds straight to an amp, PA, or DI box.
🎵 Result
Produces a clean, percussive low-frequency “kick” sound that blends well with acoustic instruments.
Simple, passive, and road-ready.

I'm using 2.5x6.4cm vero boards, these friction fit into the slot - note that in my circuit, I cut the tracks in between holes. You can do this with a sharp blade, or a good rotary tool; I prefer using the Ryobi 4V rotary tool with a Dremel 105 engraving bit.
The Pad is in TPU-HF and superglued to the main body. The Piezo is superglued to the inside. I've used 4 x heat insert brass fittings and screws M2 to attach the base.
The 3 pots are volume, high pass and low pass filters. You can plug this into a guitar amp directly, or you will need a DI for a PA. Feel free to experiment with the resistor, capacitor and pot values to create a unique tone
