Modelo 3D Parametric Self-Watering Planter por Collecticraft no MakerWorld

Descrição

The Planter That Tells You When It's Thirsty

I designed a 3D printed planter that tells you when it's thirsty. The big problem with most self-watering pots is you're just guessing the water level inside. So, I built in this simple float mechanism.

When you pour the water in, this little indicator smoothly rises up, giving you the perfect visual cue to stop. No more drowned roots.

Customize Your Garden with MakerLab!

This planter is fully parametric! Using MakerLab, you can:

  • Customize the Number of Plant Slots: Choose to print a planter for a single plant, two, three, or more. The Base and Top Part will update automatically to fit your needs.

Part of a Collaborative System!

This planter is part of a collaboration with 4ma lab who has created 3 amazing add-ons (available separately) to enhance it:

  1. A Greenhouse Dome to grow seeds (fits the ring in the Top Part).
  2. A Standalone Vase version.
  3. A Light Module to speed up plant growth.

Key Features:

  • Visual Float Indicator: A float that rises to show you the water level.
  • Fully Parametric: Use MakerLab to choose the number of plant slots.
  • Modular Top: The Top Part has a removable ring to fit the add-on Greenhouse Dome.
  • 4-Piece Design: Base (Parametric), Top Part (Parametric), Vase (STL), Float (STL).
  • Self-Watering System: Keeps plants hydrated.

Printing & MakerLab Recommendations:

  • For MakerLab Users (Important!): After customizing your design, I strongly suggest using the "Split to objects" function in Bambu Studio for best results.
  • Plate 1 - Base: Standard settings.
  • Plate 2 - Top Part: IMPORTANT: This part must be laid flat with its top surface on the build plate (print it upside-down). This ensures the removable ring prints correctly.
  • Plate 3 - Vase(s): Standard settings.
  • Plate 4 - Float(s): CRITICAL: The float MUST be printed with 0% infill to ensure it floats properly.
  • General Settings:
    • Nozzle: 0.4mm
    • Layer Height: 0.2mm
    • Infill: 10% , except for the Float (0%).
    • Supports: None required for any part.

Assembly:

  1. Print all 4 components (Base, Top Part, Vase, Float).
  2. Place the Float (printed at 0% infill) into its channel in the Base.
  3. Insert the Vase into the Base.
  4. Place the Top Part onto the assembly.
  5. If using the Greenhouse Dome add-on, simply remove the thin ring from the Top Part.
