Parametric Knitting Loom
My lovely girlfriend and I worked together to come up with this parametric knitting loom design! 💕 It has adjustable (parametric) dimensions to adapt to different projects or yarns.
One special feature we are particularly excited about is that each peg and the loom itself has channels for the hook tool to slide under the yarn (she requested this specifically)! 🧠
PARAMETRIC DIMENSIONS
This model was designed with parametric dimensions, so the number of pegs (PegQuantity), loom diameter (LoomDiameter), peg diameter (PegDiameter), and even peg height (PegHeight) can easily be modified within Fusion to fit a different style of yarn and/or item you want to be knitting.

Editable dimensions (as they appear in Fusion)
- PegQuantity - The number of pegs on the loom.
- LoomDiameter - Overall diameter of the loom, measured where the pegs are inserted.
- PegDiameter - For different yarn thicknesses you can adjust this. My girlfriend likes 8-10mm. Take care, our 6mm size pegs broke while knitting!
- PegHeight - The height of the peg, after installation. I suggest somewhere between 30mm-40mm depending on how large of a loom you are using and the peg diameter.
FAFO; with any parametric model there are limits and the model can be “broken” if these limits are pushed. For example the width of the loom (not diameter) has a static width of 26mm so the PegDiameter should not come close to this.
PRINT SETTINGS
I suggest a brim for all the pegs (please ignore my x1c's stringing):

Pro-Tip: You cooould print the pegs in different colors to identify specific locations on the loom - in order to produce patterns like heels in stockings, etc. This seems super handy for those new to knitting (me) or if you just want a colorful loom (also me)! 🎨
ASSEMBLY
I like to get the pegs ‘started’ then flip the entire loom over and press them in fully on a table or desk - it's so satisfying! Glue should not be required for the thicker pegs. You may need some for the thinner ones however. The pegs (even without glue) hold very strong and appear almost semi permanent in the loom. Plan on them not coming out (color coordinate accordingly)!

NOTES
I must confess - I do not knit myself (gasp!), but my girlfriend sure does. I've learned a lot about knitting through the design process of this model, and was super excited to share it. I think I'll even try knitting some stockings this year!
Happy Printing (and knitting)! 🪡
