Small Rugged Container Box mainly made for DeWALT Batteries

But can be used for anything else what will fit inside

This project could sound a bit silly as it was done very specifically for single DeWALT battery for my DeWALT Tyre compressor (bare tool) which is in my car’s trunk. Anyway, during a building process it become as something a bit bigger (as it happens many times). I wanted to make something what would be if not unique but at least will differ from most of similar models as rugged case models are quite a few around. 

So, main thing here is removable inserts. Even as initial Idea was (and I still like it very much) to use a foam inside for damping, but as I know not everyone want to deal with Foam. So, for those people Inserts are made. Anyway, I do recommend using some piece of foam in Lid to fix Batteries in Place, but this is very easy thing to do.

Here are Sizing of box and inserts:

• Dimensions of the Container itself (Length x Width x Height):
  140mm x 115mm x 65mm (on very bottom length and width are smaller
  You can add extra 30mm in Height as Lid have 30mm raising.
• Dimensions of 18V DeWALT XR Battery Insert (Length x Width):
  115.30mm x 80.60mm
• Dimensions of DeWALT Powerstack 5AH Battery Insert (Length x Width):
  131.9mm x 87mm
• Dimensions of DeWALT Powerstack 1.7AH Battery Insert (Length x Width):
  107.1mm x 65mm (Two compartments, so 2 Batteries can be stored)

If Your Battery or any other Item You want to store in this Container corresponds to sizing of Container or any of inserts You can use them with no problem. For Example, Parkside 4.0AH Battery fits quite well in Powerstack 5AH Insert. 

It can be a bit of a challenge to get insert out from box. Especially ones with4 stoppers as Inserts go in quite tight (intended to) and to get them out you will have to pull stoppers and block them to go back into groves with some blade or paper. They can even break in process, but don't worry, most possible you won't need them.  

As for Hardware needed…

All You have to get or Cut to size are Four <3mm x 55-58mm> Long Steel Dowels for Hinge and Latch. 

I Have made few different veriations of Container Box with minor diferences so before print, check Plate descriptions in the Profile!!! 

1. To print Container with TPU Gasket 
   - Choose Container from PLATE 1
2. To print Container without TPU Gasket
   -  Chooste Containter without Gasket from PLATE 8
3. Lid with 3D Title Plate
   - Choose Lid with Title Plate Slot from PLATE 2
4. Lid with Flat Top without 3d Tytle Plate
   - Choose Lid With Flat Top from PLATE 7
5. 3D Plate Top with DeWALT Logo
   - Choose Title Plate DeWALT from PLATE 6
6. Customizable 3D Plate
   - Choose Customizable Flat Title Plate from Plate 9 and Add your Text or shape in Bambu Studio
7. For them who prefer to make customizations in CAD software I have added STEP file of 3D Title Plate. 

As for materials, I do recommend PETG or ABS here or even Nylon. But if you choose to use PLA, it will work as well. Just be aware not to expose box to highter temps and be more gentle to it ;)
