🧰 Drawer Organizer – Customizable Boxes

Create your own modular drawer organizer with fully customizable rows and boxes.
The model automatically adapts to your drawer’s internal dimensions and lets you control box sizes, colors, labels, and units visually.

🪜 1️⃣ Define your drawer size

In the Drawer / Boxes section:

✏️ drawer_width → internal width (X)
✏️ drawer_length → internal length (Y)
✏️ drawer_height → internal height (Z)

💡 Always measure the usable internal space of your drawer, not the outer dimensions.

🧱 2️⃣ Configure your rows

Each row represents a horizontal band inside your drawer (up to 5 rows, with up to 6 boxes per row).

For each row 🟩🟦🟨🟪🟥:

🔢 rowX_count → number of boxes in that row.
📏 rowX_s1, rowX_s2, rowX_s3 … → relative width of each box (fractional values like 1.5 or 2.3 allowed).
↕️ rowX_hf → depth factor of the row (higher = deeper rows).

🧩 Example: if Row 1 hf = 1 and Row 2 hf = 2, Row 2 will be twice as deep as Row 1.

⚙️ 3️⃣ Fit & Print settings

In the Fit & Print section:

🪞 perimeter_clearance: margin around the whole organizer (recommended 0.5 mm).
↔️ print_gap: spacing between boxes for print layout (recommended 1 mm).
🧭 layout_for_print:
✅ true → print layout (boxes separated).
🚫 false → assembled view (as it fits inside your drawer).

💡 Always set layout_for_print = true before exporting STL or 3MF files.

🎨 4️⃣ Colors & Labels

🟢 Row Colors

Enable show_row_colors to visualize each row in a different color.
(Preview only — STL color won’t change unless you keep it enabled during export).

⚠️ Before exporting, disable show_row_colors unless you plan to print each row in a different color (multi-color printers can separate them automatically).

🏷️ Labels and Units

Enable show_box_labels to display the real dimensions of each box.
Now you can also choose the unit system shown in the labels:

• label_units = "mm" → shows metric dimensions (default).
• label_units = "inch" → shows imperial dimensions (converted automatically).

💡 The labels are only for visual reference — they are not printed or exported.
⚠️ Disable show_box_labels before exporting STL/3MF to keep your models clean.

🕳️ 5️⃣ Front notch (optional)

Add a circular notch for easy box removal:
✅ Set notch_enabled = true
⚙️ Adjust size using notch_radius (default 6 mm).

🔘 Ideal for pulling boxes with your fingers.

🖨️ 6️⃣ Export & Print

✅ Set layout_for_print = true
🚫 Disable colors and labels (unless you need them).
▶️ Click Generate
💾 Export as .STL or .3MF

Then open it in your slicer (Bambu Studio, Cura, PrusaSlicer, etc.) and print using:

• Layer height: 0.2 mm
• Infill: 15–20 %
• Material: PLA or PETG

🧾 7️⃣ Assembly

Place the boxes inside your drawer following the on-screen layout.
They should slide in smoothly — the 0.5 mm margin ensures a perfect fit.
