After failing to find a suitable screen door online, I made some door and window screens for my house but I did not have a convenient way to hold them in place. These simple clips allow any slightly oversize screen or cover to be pulled against the frame of a door or window opening and held in place (Or any suitable opening).

CRITICAL NOTE: These clips are NOT certified in any way and should not be considered appropriate to seal any opening where security or safety is a consideration or required. For example: These are NOT recommened to retain a screen for an upstairs window in a house with children!

I printed my own using PETG to provide some UV and heat resistence against indirect sunlight, with TPU finger grips. However you can of course print using a single material or different materials if preferred. I used a 4mm nozzle and the TPU grips use beam interlocking which I recommend if you are printing these in dual material.

The 3mf file includes:

• A set of 10 clips, rear plates and spacers. With fuzzy skin. PETG & TPU.
• A set of 2 clips, rear plates and spacers. With fuzzy skin. PETG & TPU.
• A set of 10 clips, rear plates and spacers. With fuzzy skin. PETG Only.
• A set of 2 clips, rear plates and spacers. With fuzzy skin. PETG Only.

These clips are designed to work with the following which are NOT included:

• 4mm metric machine screws. I used 4 x 40mm but you may need a different length depending upon the thickness of the screen frame you are attaching these to. You can also source button head machine screws up to 30mm length on maker supply. The holes in the printed components are sized to fit 4mm diameter screws.
• I also used 4mm ‘nyloc’ nuts to improve the resistence of the bolts to lossening from the open/close motion. But carbon steel hex nuts can also work if you dont mind re-tightening them now and again.
• I also used 4mm circlips to improve the resistence of the bolts to lossening from the open/close motion. Circlip kits are available from amazon. Example here.
