I first printed this design in PETG with 5 walls and 40% infill and it held up great for about a month of moderate use every few days painting with several different cans of paint, the teeth sheared apart at the layers ultimately failed. I got a lot of use out of this handle and was pretty happy the design, although now I would like to work further on a design that uses replaceable teeth so I don't have to throw the whole thing in the garbage now.
I Modified the pin on the original model to be larger and with one side widened so it can't pass all the way through the handle, there's also a gap in the end of the bolt to insert a cotter pin and keep it in place.
I thought these changes would be necessary incase I found the trigger uncomfortable to use and wanted to redesign it later but it was actually pretty good.
Where I plan to redesign this model further in the future would be to make the teeth that latch onto paint can thicker or stronger somehow (maybe printed in a different orientation?), and replaceable in some way, likely by using M3 heat-set inserts of which i have a pile sitting next to me.
Cheers
