X/P Buffer PTFE Guide XPBPG
Keep your PTFE tube straight with this simple yet effective guide.
It requires two longer screws, as the original ones are too short and you’ll need an extra.
The spring and sliding mechanism in the buffer can sometimes cause squealing. This guide helps reduce that, especially when combined with a touch of lubrication if it’s the sliding portion that’s making the noise.
The PTFE now has a proper resting area as the AMS (or 200-pound gorilla) pushes the filament through. This smooths the filament path and helps reduce unnecessary wear on the buffer.

Installation Instructions
Fasteners: M3×8 metal self-tapping screws, like the one on the right but in 8 mm length. These can be spare/leftover screws from a Bambu tool kit or removed from a printer (or similar M3×8 socket head screw).
These are for reference and may be ordered depending on what you have on hand. Other lengths may also work, please test to confirm fit.
Quantity: 2 screws total. See BOM for socket head.
- Remove the existing screw (Keep it close to tap the left holes if using M3x8 Socket non-self tapping.) and disconnect the PTFE from the buffer.
- Slide the yellow tab in the middle of the slot to the right, then press the release on the pneumatic connector (it will pop out on the right once fully pressed in).
- Prepare the guide and your two longer screws.
- Carefully tap the left hole (As noted by a community member, I forgot to mention that you should use the original tapered self-tapping screw to tap the left untapped hole when using a M3x8 Socket screw that is not self-taping). Work slowly and gently, using a back-and-forth motion.
- Always install the longer screws fully by hand first to ensure there is no interference inside the machine.
- The guide’s holes are designed so that the right screw is left slightly protruding for alignment, while the left screw is installed flush. Start by engaging the right screw, then the left, and tighten both screws snugly.
- Reinsert the PTFE tube and reconnect it to the buffer.
Enjoy your straight and tidy PTFE setup. Smooth and Clean.
