Description

Gridfinity 2x1 Heat-Set Insert Tip case for ruthex™ insert tips.  Tri-color option to add labels and branding changes colors 20 times.  Model is print-in-place, with two springs, a cover hinge, and a pocket door to conceal the soldering iron adapter.

The case was designed for the insert tip set sold by ruthex™ on Amazon.

It includes tips for M8, M6, M5, M4, M3, M2.5, M2 and an adapter.

Other sets or brands may or may not fit into this case.

Printing

• 0.4mm Nozzle
• 0.2mm Layer Height
• 15% infill, 2 walls
• PLA Three Colors - 20 changes
• For Single Color, do not delete the text objects, make them all one color
• Do NOT enable support, even if slicer recommends or identifies a cantilever.

Post-Printing

• Allow the model to cool completely before removing from the build plate.  Springs will lose memory if exercised when still warm.
• Use due care removing the model from the build plate, the pocket door spring is fragile until released from the build plate.
• Before closing the cover, push the latch inward and/or upward to break the spring free from the internal supports.  Then open and close the cover several times to smooth operation.
• I've not had issues breaking the pocket door free, but please be gentle the first time.
