Overview
This case is designed for the uConsole with the HackerGadgets AIO board pre-installed. It features reinforced mounting locations for the four antennas so each antenna snaps in securely and stays in place during use.
Hinges
- Use 3 mm diameter, 30 mm long hinge pins (example: [https://amzn.eu/d/g13dLjq](https://amzn.eu/d/g13dLjq)).
- Insert the pins straight and check that the hinge rotates freely before final assembly.
Hole calibration (recommended)
- Many hinge-pin holes are printed or punched slightly undersize or can become misshapen during manufacturing. To ensure smooth hinge action, use a 3 mm reamer to gently open and true the holes. Example: [https://amzn.eu/d/gsn8QyP](https://amzn.eu/d/gsn8QyP).
- Ream in small, controlled passes — test-fit the pin frequently until it slides in smoothly but without excessive play.
Antenna mounts
- The case provides four fixed antenna positions with snap-fit retention. Press each antenna into its slot until you hear or feel the snap — they should be secure but removable if needed.
- If an antenna is too tight, carefully enlarge the slot with a small file until insertion/removal is smooth.
Tips
- If you want secure the pins, consider adding a drop of thread locker or CA glue after confirming hole tolerance.
- Keep any filings or plastic shavings out of the hinge channels to avoid abrasion.
