MOB Threaded Breadboard Top Plate

This is a threaded top plate for the MOB (Modular Optical Breadboard) system, designed to provide secure mounting points for optical posts, brackets, and other experimental components.

Each hole is 3D printed with integrated threads, featuring a 6 mm nominal diameter, 2 mm pitch, and a 1.2 mm radius semicircular thread profile. This geometry was optimized for FDM printing, producing durable threads with smooth engagement and high repeatability when fastening and removing printed or metal hardware.

The hole layout follows the MOB system’s 25 mm center-to-center spacing, maintaining full compatibility with other modular breadboard panels, connectors, and accessories. The result is a strong, lightweight, and affordable alternative to conventional tapped optical breadboards—ideal for prototyping, classroom setups, and portable optical experiments.
