Modular System of Large Bins/Boxes for Multiboard and Bare Wall
01.10.2021 Update
- Added PDF and Microsoft Word DOC Templates so you can easy print and write Paper Labels for your Boxes. Labels are done in all 3 sizes as they are on Boxes. Sizes are shown on each page. If you want to make a stiffer Label, you can use a paper up to 1mm thick. If there will be a request, I will make 3D Printable Labels as well, but if You want to make ones yourself, sizes are
- 50mm x 25mm x 1.2mm
- 70mm x 25mm x 1.2mm
- 35.8mm x 45mm x1.2mm
and of course don't forget about tolerances so make them about minus 0.3-0.4mm in sizes for easy inserting/removing.
Introduction
Presenting you Modular stackable System of large Boxes mainly done for Multiboard, but with possible mounting to Bare Wall as well using included mounting pegs. Bins are done in simple Slide-in style. I have decided to not use any stoppers here as I found that they are not necessary here at all. As for sizing, I’m Giving a You to choose between 100mm or 150mm deep bins.

They can be combined in one set if You want. Below are given all bins in this set. Sizes given are outside dimensions of Bin Frames so actual Bin Compartment sizes are a little bit smaller. All bins are done in two variants. One with Label Slot and other without it. So, choose ones you want. All descriptions are given on Plate Description in Profile and in STL file names. I hope all is clear enough for understanding.
One advise in case if you are going to build a very large set of Bins on your wall. As Printing large things can lead to little dimension imperfections (like tolerance) on larger areas it can lead to mismatch of fittings to Multiboard holes. So, if you are facing such issue, just split sets leaving one empty Multiboard hole row between them, therefore making separate sections. I have tried set up to 500x500mm with no problem, but keep in mind that this could happen in your case.

Assembling instructions
Everything should be straight forward. You can just fix Bins to Multiboard/Bare wall separately one by one if you want. Or you can use included Connection Rails presented on Plate 1 in Accessories Set Nr1 profile to make a strong, sturdy monolith sets.

Rails are made to be slide in from the back what is a bit less easy if they would go all the way from front to back, but I made them that way for sake of nicer look and few other reasons. So, if you will want to add other Bins connected to existing set, you will need to remove side box and add Connection rail (if you haven’t already set one in). As for building a set, personally I do prefer to connect all boxes together before putting them onto a Multiboard but adding boxes to Multiboard one by one is totally ok.
In case if you would like to hide Connection Rail slots on the sides of your Bin Set, You can use a Frame Edge Rail hole Fillers from Plate 2 in Accessories Set Nr1 profile (or FillingRail.STL from STL files)
To fit these Bins/Boxes to the Multiboard use a Fitting Threaded Pegs provided on Plate 3 in Accessories Set Nr1 Profile:

Or, if you don't like to use a Threaded Pegs, You can use a Push fit pegs from Here
However I do recommend to use a Threaded ones as they are more secure and much easier to operate. These Threaded and Push In Pegs are designed to be Screwed/or fitted in to standard Multiboard Snaps. I would recommend to use a Weight Bearing ones. They can be found HERE.
To fit these Bins/Boxes to Bare wall You will need to use a Bare Wall Fittings with Fitting Rings (also can be found in Accessories Set Nr1 Profile on Plates 13 and 14) and M4 Countersunk Screws.

II Would Recommend printing Rings in PETG as it is a bit more flexible material, but PLA will work as well. Ring is needed to fix Bare Wall Fitting to the frame and to keep it removable for future. You can use Bare Wall Fitting without the Ring, but in this case you will have to Glue it in place so in other words you will make them permanent.
Additionally, I have made few optional accessories for this system and have plans to make few more. They all are presented in Accessories Set Nr1 Profile and under STL file section. Here is what is done at a moment:
Support Brackets in case if you want to store something heavy in these Bins. They could be useful if You will have just a single bin or single horizontal line of bins. Support brackets are made for 100mm Bins and for 150mm bins. So use corresponding Support brackets for Bins you have desired.

Hook for using underneath of the Bins. Not made to hold heavy stuff but could be very useful to hang some light things.

Third and probably most useful thing. You can add Shelves on top of Bin Set. Shelving units are presented in various widths so You can make customizable size shelving. And they all are done in two depths 150mm and 200mm.

This is mostly it for a moment.
If You have any questions or recommendations, don't hesitate to ask.
