Intro

I’ve always loved the idea of having one tool that can do the work of many, and when it comes to clamps, I wanted something that wasn’t limited to a single use. Most clamps on the market are either bulky, scratch surfaces, or can only hold one specific thing. I really wanted a modular, multi-use clamp that could attach to virtually any surface—whether it’s a desk, a workbench, or even a shelf.

After spending some time experimenting in Fusion 360, I finally came up with a design that checked all the boxes. This clamp is not only modular, but it also includes four interchangeable attachments: a cup holder, a screwdriver holder, a data cable holder, and a strong hook. The base clamp can securely fit onto any surface less than 3 inches thick, and because of the way it’s designed, it won’t damage or scratch what it’s attached to.

What makes this clamp especially fun is its versatility. There’s a small slot where attachments easily snap in, which means you’re not limited to my designs—you can create your own custom add-ons that solve everyday problems in your workspace. Whether you’re organizing tools, keeping cables tidy, or just wanting a place to set your drink, this clamp is built to adapt to your needs.

Parts

You should be printing out a…

  • Large piece that has the attachment hole and has space for the small thread insert that SLIDES inside (you don't need to use force)
  • Large thread that screws into the small thread insert
  • Small thread insert that screws into the main big thread and slides into the large clamp piece
  • The attachment! (either a cup holder, a screwdriver holder, a data cable holder, or a strong hook)

BE CAREFUL!

After you print out the clamp, you MAY need hot glue (or something similar) in 2 places. You might need to glue the attachment down inside of the attachment hole, and you need to attach that small piece with the thread that fits inside of the main clamp. It can slide into a slot that perfectly fits it, but you may need to glue it to secure it down (for me, if you make sure everything is tight, and screw the thread in securely, I haven't found that you need to glue that piece in). Use any filament that you desire.

You can print the parts with any infill above 10%, and it should hold up well (I used 12% infill). Also, keep in mind that you NEED to print the model with a layer height of 0.08 mm or less! Otherwise, the threads will become too tight, and the clamp won't work (I had to learn that the hard way). If you want to re-arrange the parts on the slicer, make sure that the threads are being printed vertically, for the best results!

Anyways, enjoy this design! (And if you are in a good mood, give me a boost!!)
