Lately, I've been really into using wooden dowel rods in my designs. So, I thought, why not make a lamp with them? My goal was to create a modern table lamp that looked a bit like a lantern, really highlighting triangle shapes in its design. And this is what I came up with! Once it's all put together, it feels wonderfully stiff and super sturdy. I'm really happy with how it turned out, and I hope you enjoy building and using it as much as I enjoyed creating it.
Required Hardware
To build one 12-inch-long unit, you will need the following:
Assembly Instructions
- Start the Base: Begin by inserting the three wooden dowel rods firmly into the holes on the base piece.
- Add the Feet & Dividers: Slide the feet onto the dowels, followed by the divider pieces. You can space the dividers out to your visual preference.
- Install Shade & Light: Carefully place the lamp shade into the center of the assembly. Feed your pendant light cord through the top of the shade and use the socket ring to screw it securely in place.
- Complete the Assembly: Place the cap piece on top of the dowels to lock everything together and prevent dust from settling inside the shade.
- Light It Up: Screw in a light bulb, plug it in, and enjoy the warm glow of your new lamp!
