Recently, the Bambu Reusable Spool was out of stock again, but I urgently needed one for the new filament I had ordered.
 

However, I had some spools with a small amount of filament left on them, and I didn't want to throw that filament away.

I found a few other "small" spool designs on Makerworld, but they either required too much filament to print, took a long time to print, or I simply didn't like them...
 

So, I sat down and tried to design my own. I quickly realized that designing "pretty" patterns in Fusion360 was either very difficult or took forever.
 

Then I had the idea to simply use infill as the pattern. And after some experimentation, the MiniInfill Spool was born .
 

It holds approximately 200g of filament, the two halves simply snap onto the cardboard core and it's printed in under 2h!
 

Important: Do not dry the Spools when printed with PLA or PETG, otherwise the spools will melt.

Guide to switch from a Bambu spool to the MiniInfill spool:

Place the spool with up to 200g of remaining filament flat on the floor.

Hold the bottom half firmly and carefully rotate the top half counterclockwise.
Now carefully remove the top half.

Push one half of the MiniInfill spool onto the cardboard core from above.

If it stays in place, then flip the spool over so that the large half is now on top.

Carefully remove this half as well.

Now you can push the second half of the MiniInfill spool into place.
