⚙️🤖 Mechanical Robot Hand – Version 3.0 🦾
Step into the world of gears, levers, and steampunk aesthetics with the brand-new Mechanical Robot Hand V3.0 – a compact, print-in-place creation that’s easy to assemble, fun to use, and full of mechanical charm!..

Main features:
👉 This hand can move three fingers plus the thumb.
👉 You control it by slipping your own fingers through the openings and pulling the levers.
👉 The pinky even has a clever double function: pulling its ring also lifts the thumb! 🖐️
✨ What’s New in V3.0
- Completely reworked finger mechanics for smoother movement and more natural motion.
- No more outer connection rod – the new internal system is sleek, reliable, and fully re-engineered.
- Issue from V2.0 solved: since the old mechanics weren’t free to use, I developed a brand-new connection rod system from scratch.
- The new internal force transmission to the fingers, making gestures more expressive and realistic.
👉 How it Works
Slip your fingers into the openings, pull the levers, and watch three fingers and the thumb come alive. The pinky even has a clever double function – pull its ring and it also lifts the thumb! 🖐️

🎭 What You Can Do
Grab small objects, wave hello, or… raise a cheeky middle finger 😏. With a little practice, it feels surprisingly intuitive and interactive.
🔧 Behind the Build
Designing this version 3.0 was all about balancing functionality with a tight build volume and to replace the finger mechancis by own development. Most of it prints in one piece, yet it’s strong, durable, and packed with detail. I’ve also given it a full steampunk makeover – rivets, gears, and intricate accents – so it’s not just functional, but a mechanical work of art.
Two Sizes for your Fingers (new profile added for larger fingers)

⚖️ My Copyright Odyssey – Version 2.0
Some of you might remember that my Mechanical Robot Hand V2.0 had to be taken down due to copyright infringement. In my rush to develop it quickly, I “borrowed” the finger mechanics from someone else. Looking back, I regret that choice.
The good news is that we were able to talk it out. Makerworld has released an official statement about exclusive model handling, which means version 2.0 will need to stay private. Of course, that’s a little disappointing, since we both would have agreed to create a remix version of it. Still, I’ve grown a lot through this experience. Mistakes happen, and I now see them as opportunities to learn, improve, and move forward.
💡 I like this community, and I don’t want the effort I’ve put in so far to go to waste. That’s why I’ve started an entirely new development for the finger movement — one that took more time, but also opened the door for improvement. Exploring the mechanics in such depth has been both a challenge and a joy, and I believe it will lead to something even better…
