Heavily overengineered parasol mount

A friend of mine has two parasols of the same type on his balcony and he wanted to mount them to the railing.

This model is designed to fit between railing bars that have at least 8cm of space between each other.

The lid with two holes is meant to hold the parasol while the other lid with four screws is meant to be connected to the railing.

Using M8x60 screws the max. diameter of the railing and parasol is about 4cm. For parasols this should be fine. To make this piece compatible with bigger diameters make sure to use longer screws like M8x80.

PETG or any other temperature and UV resistant filament.

Bill of materials

• 6x M8 nuts
• 6x M8x60 countersunk screws (or M8x80 for bigger railings)

Mounting

• Insert the M8 nuts in the middle part. They just slide in their position
• Fit the backplate (the thing with four holes) on the railing and screw it to the middle part so fits the railing nicely
• Do the same thing with the frontplate and the parasol and you are good to go

This whole thing might be overengineered, but hey. I'm open to improving this piece.
