Bring a touch of retro-futuristic charm to your space with this unique clock! Inspired by mid-century modern and space-age design featuring atomic-era shapes, and a sculptural form that works both as a functional timepiece and decorative statement piece.

This design includes two desk mount options. Both use an interchangeable base, with one angled back at 15° for easier viewing. The base fit is intentionally snug for stability, but the clock face can be removed quickly for battery changes. If you choose the wall mount, it’s highly recommended to superglue the mounting brackets to the back of the faceplate for extra strength.

The clock mechanism you buy must fit a hole with a diameter of 8mm, and extend further than 5.5mm (the thickness of the clock face). When using the 90deg stand have the corners of the boomerang base facing the direction you would read the clock from. When using the 85deg stand have the corners of the boomerang base facing away from the direction you would read the clock.

Printing Notes:

With AMS

• Print with supports enabled for best results.
• Supports on the clock face remove cleanly without much finishing work.
• The upright pieces may require some light sanding or trimming for a smooth fit.
• The top face speed has been slowed down to 150mm/s as my printer seems to prefer that for a cleaner look.
• PLA or PETG recommended.

Without AMS

• After slicing replace the color changes with pauses.
• pauses should occur at layer 19, 24, and 29
• Print with supports enabled for best results.
• Supports on the clock face remove cleanly without much finishing work.
• The upright pieces may require some light sanding or trimming for a smooth fit.
• The top face speed has been slowed down to 150mm/s as my printer seems to prefer that for a cleaner look.
• PLA or PETG recommended.

For an cohesive look, consider printing your own hands. I found these to work, but I had to do a lot of fiddling to get the second hand to print well. I'll upload the profile I used. Big thanks to @mosselini1 for making a parametric profile. I find the clock looks much better with matching hands. Though, every clock mechanism can be slightly different, your results may vary. I went though about 15 iterations before I got something that worked for me.
