Hey guys! :)
For you today, I have a rose.🥀 Not any rose, but a super dramatic, dark, and dreamy rose. It's straight picked out of a nightmare, so real that you may not see the weirdness in it. But when you look twice, it looks back at you with a cursed eye. 👁👁
Tbh I love the idea of roses, but I find the normal ones overplayed (& a bit boring), so I have to make them a little weird every time. :D But for this one, I really wanted to achieve this hyper-realistic, almost eye-fooling look to creep you out at the second glance. It's perfect for the dark and spooky decorations and gifts ahead!
To print this beauty:
- You can use several colors, since it's made of several pieces.
- It's safer to enable the support generation for the rose. I was able to print it without, but better safe than sorry. For easier support cleaning, change the overhang angle to 75 degrees (Threshold angle = 15), use the tree-type supports, and support critical regions only.
- Reduce the layer height to 0.16 mm.
- Enable the outer-brim option. For the Stem, it's better to use painted brims or “ear brims” to make sure the two little holes (for leaves placement) won't get clogged.
- This rose is quite heavy itself, so use a lower infill (about 5 to 10%).
Assembly Note:
- This print is tolerance sensitive, so if you experience the “Elephant Foot” problem on your prints, you'll have a hard time attaching the leaves to the stem. In that case, you can reduce the size of the leaves a bit (about 5 %) and retry the assembly.
- Use glue for a safer connection between the components.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I did, and happy printing! :) 🥂✨
