Want a ring I don't have? Remix one yourself and attach it here, or leave a comment and I'll see if I can do it!
Notes and Recommendations:
Printing
- Download the .3mf file, as it has very specific settings set to ensure best prints!
- The file will take a while to load as there are a lot of parts. Just be patient :)
- Plates are laid out according to ring type, and contain more rings than you need for a single pen. Only about 50-60 rings will fit on a pen at a time, so feel free to delete unnecessary rings
- If you want higher quality, decrease the layer height to .08mm, but this will greatly increase print time
- Since the parts are so small, make suer your build plate is nice and clean before you start! (Official instructions here)
Assembly
1. Insert your pilot G2 ink refill into the body of the pen (May be a little tight)
2. Place rings on the pen any way you like! Go crazy!
3. Before you reach the end of the pen body, add on a pen clip (but only if you want one ;)
4. Insert the security cap into the pen, and line up the side holes with the side holes in the pen body
5. Insert the security pin into the pen, with the short side down, so that it seamlessly lines up with the security cap
Security Pin Note: The first time you put in and pull out the security pin, it may be a little tight. Try to pry it off with something like a small screwdriver, and in the future you should be able to pull it off with just your fingers!
Wave Ring support Removal:
I wasn't able to figure out how to print the wave ring with traditional supports, so I ended creating a base that it sits on top of. After printing, you'll need something like a pair of pliers to remove the wave ring from the base.
To remove, just grab the base with the pliers (just below the wave ring)

Bend the base outwards and up towards the wave ring

Bend the base again in the opposite direction

Pull the base from the ring to full release
