Design Considerations

Inspired by existing cases for the DSO138, this design has been optimized for both practicality and printability. The case is Gridfinity compatible, fitting into a 2x3 grid unit, making it the only known(at least to me) case that offers this functionality.

• Custom Slider Mechanism: The sliders for sensitivity and multiplier adjustment have been meticulously engineered to avoid common issues seen in other cases. The two-part slider ensures precise movement without bending the oscilloscope's delicate switches. The design also includes a three-position detent system for more accurate adjustments.
• Button Enhancements: The control buttons have been redesigned for smooth operation and easy assembly. The square-based buttons fit into guide slots, and once inserted, are held securely by retaining clips, preventing them from falling out during assembly. The rounded top of the buttons also enhances the tactile experience, providing a firm yet comfortable press.
• Labeling for Controls: With the multi-material variant, you can use different filament colors for clear and crisp control labels, made possible with the GEEERT font that prints well even on FDM printers with a 0.4mm nozzle.
• LED Light Guide: Instead of exposing the LED through a simple hole, this case includes a dedicated light tunnel made from transparent PETG, keeping dust out while ensuring the LED remains clearly visible.
• Easy Assembly: The case features alignment marks and guides to simplify the assembly process, making it beginner-friendly while maintaining a professional finish.
