Because Losing 10 mm is a Tradition
Because the 10 mm socket deserves its own special place.
Every mechanic knows the legend: the 10 mm socket is never where you need it. It vanishes into thin air, hiding somewhere between reality, the workshop floor, and that mysterious dimension where missing socks and pens also live. To honor this eternal struggle, I designed a wall-mounted display box in the style of an emergency unit – not to be smashed in a crisis, but to bring a smile to anyone who spots it in the workshop.
The box is made up of several parts:
• a labeled cover with a cutout for acrylic glass (90 × 90 × 2 mm),
• a sturdy housing for wall mounting,
• an inlay that hides the mounting screw for a clean look while keeping the socket at the right height behind the window,
• and a clip that holds the socket centered in place.
The cover is secured with eight 6 × 3 mm neodymium magnets, making it easy to remove and reassemble.
Printed with Bambulab PETG HF Red (33200) and White (33100) – but any red and white will do.
The only 10 mm socket you’ll never lose… unless you really try.
