A tiny USB-powered screwdriver built with an N20 motor - easy to print, easy to build.
MiniDrive is a small USB-powered electric screwdriver built with an N20 geared motor. Designed for 3D printing, it requires only a few parts, and the case assembles without screws.
You can use it even without power, because the wiring is designed for plug braking. This lets it work as a manual torque screwdriver.
It can be printed in PLA, but PETG is recommended for durability.
BOM
- 1 x USB-C breakout board (works only with a USB-A to USB-C cable, not C-to-C)
- 2 x Mouse/Micro switches
- 1 x N20 geared motor (my build uses 80 RPM @ 5V)

Wiring
Uses a staircase switch system for forward/reverse control.

Assembly Guide

1. Solder/connect wires as shown in the wiring diagram
2. Bend the motor wires, slide the motor into its slot
3. Place the switches and USB board, using the slots to keep the wiring tidy

4. Put in the switch caps, insert the entire assembly into the case
5. Add the motor cap, bit connector, and your screwdriver bit
6. Plug in the USB cable to a power bank or adapter

And finally, go and find something to screw! Think bigger, it can handle more than just toys.

You can also swap bit connector to fit 4 mm or 1/4" bits - or even design your own custom connector.
