Modelo 3D Bosch Router Table Bushing Insert por ADavis no MakerWorld

Descrição

This is an adapter that will allow standard Porter-Cable style bushings to be used on a Bosch router table. To improve precision, it is printed in two parts which must be glued together.

The outer ring is an adaptation of the SCAD model found here: [https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3779019.](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3779019.) I thickened the inner ring so that there would be more glue surface for the actual bushing part.

The bushing part was a good excuse for me to learn some SCAD and is an original creation.

I glued my two parts together with superglue. I have been using it for a couple weeks without any sign of separation, but please let me know if you encounter any. A completely secure attachment might require screws.

The one issue that I am currently figuring a workaround for is with my Leigh bushing. This bushing is not symmetrical and needs to maintain a fixed angular position. Unfortunately, the air currents from the bit's rotation cause the entire plate to rotate; I'm still working on a solution to that.

I have added a second plate with a solution that seems to work for the Leigh bushing. It extends a tab into actual router mount (see picture). The tab keeps the plate from rotating. I was surprised to find that the plate can be removed even when the bit is up at cutting depth. Obviously it requires a bit of finesse to do this, but well within the range of normal humans. Note that I have a Bosch 1617 router, and that's what I sized the tab for. I'm certain that there will be issues if you try to use this with another brand of router. Feel free to modify the SCAD to fit and hit me up in the comments if you have questions about how I approached things.

To get the requisite spacing between the plate and the anti-rotation tab I had to make the insert considerably thicker. To allow regular bushings to work, I added a relief cutout on the underside of the insert. I wasn't able to get a nice print without supports, but this is just on the underside, so the loss of precision isn't important.

Lastly, the Leigh bushing wants a reference to gauge against. Rather than put this in the model and deal with the alignment issues between this mark and the tab, I assembled everything and used a square and a marking knife to make the reference (last picture)
