Even though it’s labeled as v2, this is actually a complete remake of my print-in-place string winder concept. Thanks to its XY joint orientation, it’s extremely sturdy, easily the strongest 3D printable string winder available online, and even tougher than most plastic store-bought ones with only minimal print settings (2 walls & 15% infill). The print-in-place design eliminates weak assembly points. These two printing methods ensure maximum durability.
After printing the file, spin it a few turns so the two parts naturally smooth themselves for an easy-to-turn joint.
The model comes with custom supports & brims, designed for maximum print stability, minimal print time, and higher quality. Support-free versions are also available via the “Download STL & CAD files” button.
The handle features a knurling pattern for grip - with smooth top and bottom faces to prevent printing issues. This gives it both a minimalist look and excellent handling. Note: due to the knurling pattern, downloading the STL or print profile may take slightly longer.

1-Two Different Size Options
Two peg socket sizes are included for wider compatibility: 35 × 9.5 × 25 mm and 25 × 9.5 × 16 mm.
One size is designed for instruments ranging from guitars to ukuleles, while the larger one fits bigger pegs. This makes the overall design more versatile and compatible with a wider range of instruments.
1-Pin Removal Feature
The integrated pin remover allows you to easily remove bridge pins on acoustic guitars, using the access hole on the back.
If you are looking for fast winding with a drill, I have a great model for that too:
If you want to cut the older strings for quicker string change, there is one more:
