Descrição
Uses a standard NEMA 17 motor and is modular in design. Use the printed 20x60 T-slot profile or buy aluminium profiles. The T-nut can be printed or a metal version can be purchased. I printed all of it.
Strength Issue:
Another 3D print enthusiast notified me about issues with using PETG for the tracks that I didnt see due to my relatively short conveyor length of ~50cm.
"The print profile says to use PETG, so I used an entire roll of PETG to make enough track to span the length of my printer room.
After the conveyor belt tore itself apart instead of functioning correctly, I created some test pieces so I could measure the force it takes different materials to come apart when pulled .
PETG is by far the worst material to print the belt out of, with only 1.6 pounds of force required to pull the track sections apart.
ABS is a close second worst at 2.8lbs.
PLA is far superior, coming in at 10.9lbs. Note: I also tested PLA Tough+, it was not as good as regular PLA."
Assembly video:
You'll need to print around 108 tracks to support the length of 2 x T-slot profiles (40cm).
You'll need this besides the printed parts to make a full ~50cm track:
- 36 x M3x10 bolts
- 4 x M3x16 bolts
- 36 x M3 nuts
- Optionally:
- 4 x Bearings R8-2RS
Only the “End bracket” requires support, the rest is support free to make it easy :)
Update August 2025:
I have added an optional ultrasonic sensor bracket for HC-SR04 to detect objects on the conveyor.
A piece of code for checking objects on the conveyor every x minuts is also available
3 of the parts are derived from another design.
The tracks are original from this: [https://makerworld.com/en/models/532026-poop-shoot-conveyor-belt-system-version-2#profileId-448856](https://makerworld.com/en/models/532026-poop-shoot-conveyor-belt-system-version-2#profileId-448856)
While the track gear is modified quite a bit and the couplers/shafts are modified only slightly.
