Modelo 3D USS Enterprise-D por donmegel no MakerWorld

Descrição

"For five hundred years, every ship that has borne the name of the Enterprise has become a legend. This one is no different."

– Vice Admiral Nakamura, 2365 (TNG Episode "The Measure Of A Man")

This is the USS Enterprise-D in 1:2800 scale. Now you can relive the adventures of the USS Enterprise-D as it conducted archeological surveys of prehistoric worlds, studied flora and fauna, and drifted in space after the entire crew devolved into spiders and dinosaurs (TNG Episode “Genesis”).

At over 9 inches long (229mm), this is the largest vessel in my Little Ships Collection but I wanted continuity with my USS Enterprise, USS Enterprise-B and USS Enterprise-C models. For those of you not interested in scaling, or who just want a model in a more desk friendly size, I will be releasing a smaller version in the near future. The arrival of the Enterprise-D also brings a new collection that I hope to grow in the future; Legacy of the Name. This new collection will only contain ships at 1:2800 scale so that the size differences in Star Trek ships can be clearly seen.

As you can see from the photos, I have printed in Bambu PLA Basic Bronze, which I love, but you can easily print in your choice of colors or PLA Silk if you want to recreate the scene from “First Contact” where Picard broke his little ships.

In addition to its size, the large saucer of the Enterprise-D required a slight redesign of my normal base to shift the center of gravity. The new base, and the reduced infill of the Saucer, should keep the model from tipping over and crashing into Veridian III.

I have tried to make assembly as simple as possible. All five pegs are the same size and same dimensions so there is no need to worry about knowing which way is up. Put the pegs in the holes and push the sides together. I recommend attaching the neck to the stardrive first, then assembling the rest of the model.

You WILL need glue. The pegs are only to help you align the parts of the ship to make gluing easier. The pegs alone will not hold the ship together. That said, the fit of the ship on the base should be snug enough to allow you to skip glue if you want the option to remove the Enterprise-D and fly it around your office. (Please note: the warp core on this model is NOT operational and the model will not move under its own power).
