There don’t seem to be many models that reuse the Bambu spool for desiccant drying, which I find surprising—it's actually one of the best spools for this purpose.

• It already has built-in holes for air circulation.
• It easily comes apart, making it ideal for installing a cage or container inside.

Most models I’ve seen either print the entire spool or reuse an empty one without offering all the features I wanted. So, I designed my own:

• Indexing holes: Unlike many other designs, mine doesn't require an inner ring. Just thread a small piece of filament through the spool and the hole to secure it.
• Integrated lip fit: The cage sits snugly inside the spool’s recessed lip, so it can also be used without relying on the indexing hole.
• Side-opening lid: Makes it easy to load and unload desiccant.
• Interior ribs: These function as mixing fins to ensure efficient and even drying—especially useful when paired with the AMS 2, which rotates the spool. They also add rigidity.
• Optimized slots: Designed for maximum airflow without compromising strength.
