- 250 ml (1 cup) milk (lukewarm)
- 1 egg
- 2 tbsp melted butter or neutral oil
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla sugar (optional)
- ½ tsp salt
- 1½ tsp baking powder
- About 300–350 ml (1¼–1½ cups) all-purpose flour
Optional: A pinch of ground nutmeg or cinnamon for extra flavor
Instructions:
- In a large bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, butter/oil, sugar, vanilla sugar, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, mix the flour and baking powder, then sift it into the wet ingredients.
- Whisk until you get a smooth and pourable batter – similar to thick pancake batter. Adjust with more flour or milk if needed.
- Let the batter rest for about 10 minutes.
- Pour the batter into your donut maker and fry directly in oil heated to around 175°C (350°F), about 1–2 minutes per side depending on size.
- Remove from oil, drain, and coat with sugar, cinnamon, or glaze as desired.
