Descrição
Dyson V8 trigger lock
Note: There is an update for this model at this link: [https://makerworld.com/en/models/2286371-dyson-v8-trigger-lock-v1-1](https://makerworld.com/en/models/2286371-dyson-v8-trigger-lock-v1-1)
Preparation
(Experienced modelers can skip this section.)
- Clean the screw:
Remove the brim from the screw and gently sand the surfaces where the supports were attached. This should take about 5 -10 minutes. - Clean the slots:
Use a needle tool or another sharp instrument to remove the supports from the slots. They come off easily if you insert the tool underneath and lift gently.
⚠️ Do not sand the lock area and the rails (as indicated by the red arrows).

Assembly
Tip: Before installing the mechanism on your Dyson, run the screw into the main body a couple of times to ensure a smooth fit.
- Attach the main body:
Slide the main body onto the Dyson from the back of the handle. The slots on the main body (see reference images) should enclose the extension under the trigger. - Insert the screw:
Secure the main body in place with the screw. - Install the trigger:
Insert the narrow side of the trigger first into the larger square opening (with the three small rail guides at the bottom). Push it in until it passes the lock.
It should now fit firmly in place.
💡 When the trigger is fully inserted, the Dyson will automatically turn on. To turn it off, press the lock from the opposite side - this indicates the mechanism works properly.

Materials
The model was printed using PETG, which has slightly more flexibility and tolerance compared to PLA.
This makes it more suitable for parts that experience pressure, like the trigger mechanism.
Removing the Mechanism
(…Mama doesn’t like it!)
- Start by removing the trigger - press the lock and pull it out carefully (see reference image).
- Then, unscrew the bolt and remove the main body.

Notes
- This model was designed for the Dyson V8. It may fit other Dyson models, but this has not been confirmed.
Since the print is small (less than 15 g), you can safely try it on other models.
Please leave a comment if it works - or doesn’t - so others can benefit from your experience. - There’s limited space in the trigger area of older Dyson models, so we’ve optimized the design to make the best possible use of that space.
- Do not change the print orientation unless you are experienced and understand how it will affect strength and tolerances.
