This is a simple mechanism designed for locking in ON position the Dyson vacuum cleaner trigger without pressing it all the time: the trigger is accessible and usable exactly as before, but now it is possible to lock it.

I designed it for my personal use on the Dyson V10, but it should work for other versions, too. The design is not refined, so take it for what it is, especially the lock spring.

You will need a compression spring (I used a 5.5x40mm) and a metal paper clip. The Trigger and the Slider need to be glued together and then slid inside the Base from an angle to avoid the side of the Base; the spring needs to be placed between them. Then, glue or gam in place the Lock Lever. Double-sided tape can be used to better fix the Base inside the Dyson: placing it in place will be hard, but flexing it a bit help.

IMPORTANT NOTES

The designed Unlock Lever has never performed as expected since thermoplastica are prone to creep and can't keep the spring effect for long. I suggest printing it in carbon fiber reinforced filament to mitigate the creep effect and make it stiffer. The best way to make it is in metal: I shaped a metal clip paper clip using pliers, and I suggest to do the same.
