I present the legendary USS Enterprise-D Refit as seen in the TNG Episode “All Good Things”

The refitted Enterprise-D, or Galaxy X Class, was used as Admiral Riker’s flagship in the 2390s. The Galaxy X Refit included massive upgrades over the original Galaxy class, including a cloaking device, phaser lance, and a third warp nacelle for facilitating transwarp speeds. Although ships in Star Trek routinely serve for many decades, I imagine the relatively young alternate timeline Enterprise-D from ‘All Good Things’ has experienced a very active thirty years since her launch, especially with Admiral Riker in command. For that reason, I decided to give the model a dark wash to bring out the details and highlight the time and wear she has endured (I’ve included pictures of the model before the wash for those who want a ‘right off the printer’ look).

I have oriented the model to provide the best quality and fewest supports possible. It will print on any build plate type, but I recommend the use of a smooth build plate if you have one to help reduce visible lines where the model is glued together.

Assembly is straightforward; the two 5mm cubes are for aligning the forward and aft sections of the model, while the three 4mm cubes are for aligning the forward and back halves of each nacelle. The nacelles then attach to the appropriate pylons. YOU WILL NEED GLUE. The pegs are only to assist in lining up the model for gluing and will not keep it together. I also suggest gluing the model to the base, but, if you want to be able to fly it around your office, ambushing Klingon battlecruisers and rescuing medical ships, you can omit the glue for easy removal.

Due to the front heavy design of the Galaxy Class, I lowered the infill for the forward section and reoriented the base to shift the center of gravity. That said, it is roughly the same size as the other vessels in my “Tiny Ships” collection and will make a great desk display.
