Modular Expansion Cat Scratch (MECS) Project is something I came up after seen so many cool modular projects like gridfinity and others. After doing a remix of the cat scratch frames I started thinking about how to make things better and able to make joints to make a big cat house, castle, tree etc.

I love the Cat Scratch Maker tool and you will want one for this project. You might also want a utility knife, I recommend this one. And also a rubber mallet and you will probably want some frames

Your imagination is the limit!

I made all the basic pieces and provided them in different plates. It is up to you to mix and match and print what you need. I recommend mostly using corners & Ts but if for some reason you need/want 4way joints I made some of them and did some testing and provided 2 plates with them. One plate has them laying on their side this has the following advantages: less support & faster print but the bottom side will be a bit rough. The other option on the other plate has it standing and it is slower and wastes more filament but gives you 4 smooth sides

The tolerance is very very unforgiving for this project, they are a VERY THIGH fit. You will need the mallet and you will have to hammer them together. This is by design for stability if you are making cat tree etc. They will very likely break if you need to take them apart but if you have patience you might be able to. I have separated a couple by putting them on top of another core and hammering them all the way out.

Also added wedges to link 2 cores together in case you need those and I am thinking of a couple of other pieces that might be useful. Would love to see what people create using joints.
