📏 Compact D1 Mini Case 🤏
I designed this case to house a 0.96" OLED SSD1306 that's been soldered directly to the D1 Mini ESP8266.
The aim was to create the smallest case possible which is why it is very minimalistic. It suited my project so I decided to make it available here.

Perfect for IoT sensor displays, weather stations, home automation controllers, prototyping and development projects, educational electronics projects etc.

⚠️ Please Note
- The internal depth of the enclosure is 11.85mm so make sure the overall finished soldered device is this height from the USB port to the top of the screen. This allows a tiny bit of space between the screen and the board. I should probably make a spacer for this.
- Your screen pins may differ to mine. The screen I am using has 4 pins and are in this order: VCC > GND > SCL > SDA
- I have not tested this with the newer USB-C D1 mini yet.
- One model features a hole for the built-in LED on the D1 Mini. I have tried several printed parts to fit here including TPU and Clear filament but nothing has worked as well as a bit of hot glue applied on the inside of the case, allow to cool slightly then push the semi-cooled glue through the hole to create a dome on the exterior. This creates a nice looking LED and can be nice and bright if you do it right with not too much glue.
