SmartTarget — Interactive Electronic Shooting Game
SmartTarget is a fully 3D-printable, Arduino-based interactive shooting game, designed for fun, skill, and challenge. The device features four motorized pop-up targets, each equipped with optical endstops for hit detection and fast response.
A powerful ESP32 microcontroller manages the game logic, wireless connectivity, and web-based interface accessible from any smartphone, tablet, or PC.
The game offers four different modes:
- Speed Run: Hit all the targets as quickly as possible. The timer stops only when the last target is hit!
- Target Attack: Score as many hits as possible before time runs out.
- Random Target: Test your reflexes with targets that pop up randomly—stay sharp!
- Memory Target: Memorize and repeat increasingly complex target sequences.
Features:
- Modular, robust, and easy-to-assemble 3D-printed design.
- Touchless, reliable hit detection thanks to optical endstops.
- Smooth, low-noise servo actuation.
- Real-time scoring, high score saving, and configuration directly via WiFi.
- User-friendly web app, fully responsive for mobile and desktop.
- Maintenance-friendly and customizable—ideal for home, schools, or makerspaces.
SmartTarget is the ultimate DIY project for families, schools, and makers who want to combine engineering, coding, and pure fun!
All electronics are housed in a compact enclosure, with simple wiring and robust connectors.
Assembly instructions, wiring diagrams, and user guides are available, making the project suitable for all levels.
Challenge yourself, friends, or family—SmartTarget makes skill-building fun and rewarding!

GRAPHICAL INTERFACE
The SmartTarget graphical interface is a web app optimized for viewing on various devices such as smartphones, tablets, or PCs.
From the home page, you can choose the game mode, start a game, or access the settings.
During gameplay, the screen is divided into three main areas:
- Score and Record at the top
- Animated targets in the center (with real-time visual feedback)
- Timer or shot counter at the bottom
Instant updates, large buttons, and clear messages make the experience simple and engaging.

ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT
Assembly is simple and suitable for anyone: simply 3D print the components, attach the servo motors and optical sensors, connect the wiring, and insert the ESP32. The modular design ensures precise and robust assembly. Detailed instructions guide you step by step, with no need for advanced tools or soldering—basic equipment is sufficient.
The project uses a handy ESP32 WROOM expansion board for quick and easy connections.
