3D model UK light switch cover plate Flowers by Orddu on MakerWorld

Description

Flower / floral covers for standard UK light switches (85mm square)

There are lots of covers out there for US light switches, but very few for the UK.

These are made to work well with silk filament by using a shiny ironed embossed shape, and a Hilbert Curve top layer to take the shine out and leave a contrasting texture.  If you want to paint the top of the pattern in Bambu Studio then of course you can do that, but I like the contrast made using just one colour.

They only take about 1hr 45m each to print - because there's 3 in the file it looks like it takes 3x the time.

Includes a set of 3 guides to work out which height to use.  Print one set of these first and hold it against your light switch as shown.  If your switch is curved make sure you look at the highest bit.  Whichever one is the closest to the wall on the side (low, medium, high), that's the one to print from the main file, so just delete the other two from the plates.

The 3mf is highly recommended as it has modifiers set up for the textures and the supports already configured.  Currently set to a P1S, textured plate.  The support interface is set to work with a PETG interface layer for easy removal.  If you don't have an AMS or choose not to use PETG as an interface then make sure you change the support interface top Z distance to your usual setting as it's currently zero and your supports will be welded to the print!

Once printed, take the supports out and then use double-sided tape (or Blutack or whatever you like) to stick the cover to the light switch.  Voila!
