Vented LED Riser For X1/P1

Introduction

Introducing….. My Vented LED Riser for the X1/P1 series! Yeah I'm a little late to this party. I print PLA and PETG on my X1 so wanted a simple LED riser to help illuminate that dark cavern of an interior, but that was also vented. I wanted something a little more designed and cool looking, and this is what I made.

The channel for the LED strip is at a slight angle so it points down a little, but doesn't get too bunched in the corners! The tollerances are tight, and you may not have to use screws, but there are holes supporting up to 8 screws total. Although a basic 4 will do.

I set the model up so it can be two toned! A little extra fun. I printed mine with Bambu's newer Light Gray, which seems to pair well with the X1; with the charcoal capping it off.

12 M3x12mm Self Tapping Screws

1 LED Strip. (In the BOM for the Bambu store, I choose the most suitable LED strip. I've personally tested/used these strips from Amazon HERE and HERE.)

Assembly Instructions

Assembly is really simple. Just slide the pieces together. The tolerances can be tight, so arrange the pieces loosely first before you slide them into place. Optionally, you can secure everything together with 4-8 screws. Not pictured here, but easy enough, is then attaching the LED strip. Most LED strips have a sticker backing, and so just stick it along the top groove, giving a little extra ply in the corners to help account for the slight tilt of the LED strip groove.
